Black Bat Flower

Not every flower was meant to look welcoming.

The Black Bat Flower (Tacca chantrieri) is one of nature's most extraordinary blooms. With velvety black petals and impossibly long whiskers that can reach nearly three feet in length, it looks more like something from a gothic novel than a tropical rainforest.

Native to the forests of Southeast Asia, this rare plant thrives in warm, shaded environments where its dramatic form stands out among the understory. Its haunting beauty inspired Black Bat, one of my favorite candles in the Gothic Garden Collection.

Blended with bergamot, lavender, and warm spice, it's mysterious, elegant, and just a little wild—much like the flower itself.

Because sometimes the most beautiful things grow in the dark. 🖤
